Okay guys, this bedroom is a work in progress, but I’m so happy how it’s turned out so far! We aren’t willing to put so much money into since we will probably be moving in a year and half, but in the meantime… we need a cozy space to make us feel at home! I chose to go with whites and neutrals since our apartment is pretty tiny, and I wanted to open up the space. I’m also still on the hunt for more throw pillows and better duvet cases, but with the neutrals it’s super easy to match anything. I’m hoping to take a trip to homegoods as soon as my school schedule clears up a little.
On to the real question though, you’re all wondering – how on earth did two broke college lovebugs afford all this great stuff?!
Well, I have two tips for you. The first one is that marriage is awesome, and you get a lot of gifts. I’m not telling you to go out and get hitched with the first guy you meet, but I can’t deny all the great stuff you get 😉 But for real – most of this stuff I found at homegoods, amazon, and wayfair. Homegoods is perfect for cheap decor like throws and vases. Wayfair has pretty good sales and has tons of furniture that ranges from cheap to super expensive. You just have to decide how much you’re willing to invest. I broke down each room into categories and budgeted each one separately. Our total cost for the bedroom (mattress and dressers included – but I’m not showing the dressed because they are pretty eh) was around $1100. I mean, that’s pretty doable, not to mention that some of the items were gifts that we didn’t buy.
So I hope you enjoy our bedroom guide! Apologies for the terrible lighting, but it’s been raining for 4 days straight and I really wanted to get this blog post up!
